This Policy Centre sets out the legally binding terms that govern your access to and use of www.mumu.sg and any purchase of products from MUMU via our website or authorised channels. By accessing or using the site or by placing an order, you agree to all policies below. These policies are intended to protect MUMU and are enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law.

2. MUMU Terms & Conditions

2.1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website, submitting an order, or accepting delivery, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services immediately.

2.2 Eligibility & Capacity

You confirm you are at least 18 years of age or acting with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and have capacity to enter into binding transactions.

2.3 Changes to Terms

MUMU may amend these Terms at any time without prior notice by publishing an updated version on the website. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2.4 Permitted Use & Prohibited Conduct

The Services are for personal, non‑commercial use. You must not attempt to interfere with site security, upload malicious code, infringe intellectual property, harass staff, manipulate reviews, or misuse any interactive features.

2.5 Product Information & Natural Variations

Most MUMU products are handcrafted from natural materials. Variations in grain, tone, knots, figure, oil content, scent, and finish are inherent and expected. Measurements may vary by up to ±5mm due to hand finishing. Images are illustrative and colour may differ across screens and lighting. These characteristics are not defects.

2.6 Pricing & Taxes

All prices are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD). No GST is charged unless and until notified otherwise on the website. Prices, promotions, and availability may change at any time.

2.7 Orders, Acceptance & Billing

Your order is an offer to purchase. MUMU may accept or reject any order at its discretion (including due to availability, errors, or suspected abuse). You must provide accurate billing, delivery and contact details and authorise the chosen payment method for the full payable amount.

2.8 Delivery Overview

Delivery timelines are indicative only. Risk of loss passes to you when the goods are handed to the logistics provider. Full delivery terms are set out in the Shipping & Delivery Policy.

2.9 Customer Responsibilities for Delivery

You are responsible for accurate addresses and access readiness, including lift and staircase dimensions, estate clearance, and safe access. If our logs show access is unsuitable or you are absent, the delivery is deemed failed and re‑delivery fees apply.

2.10 Returns & Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are governed strictly by the Refund, Return & Exchange Policy. Custom or made‑to‑order items are non‑returnable. Food‑contact items are non‑returnable once any seal or packaging is opened.

2.11 Intellectual Property

All content, designs, logos, trademarks, product photography and copy on the site belong to MUMU or its licensors. No reproduction, distribution, reverse engineering or derivative use is permitted without written consent.

2.12 Third‑Party Marketplaces

If you purchase through a third‑party marketplace, its terms apply to refunds, returns and customer service. MUMU is not liable for platform policies or delays beyond our control.

2.13 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted, MUMU is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses, including loss of profits, data or reputation. Our aggregate liability is capped at the price paid for the affected product.

2.14 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify MUMU against claims, losses, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Services, or violation of rights of others.

2.15 Dispute Resolution

You must first contact MUMU via the website Contact Form to attempt resolution. If unresolved, the dispute shall proceed to mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre, followed—if necessary—by binding arbitration under SIAC Rules in Singapore, in English, by a sole arbitrator.

2.16 Force Majeure

MUMU is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including accidents, acts of God, strikes, epidemics, transport disruption or regulatory actions.

2.17 Governing Law; Entire Agreement; Severability; Assignment

These Terms are governed by Singapore law. They constitute the entire agreement between you and MUMU regarding the Services. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in force. You may not assign or transfer your rights without MUMU’s consent.

3. MUMU Privacy Policy

3.1 Scope

This Policy applies to personal data collected online (website, forms, chat) and offline (showroom discussions, delivery arrangements) for the purposes of ordering, fulfillment, customer service and related operations.

3.2 Data Collected

We may collect your name, contact details, addresses, order and payment metadata, delivery notes, communications, device identifiers, IP address, and cookie/analytics data. Data may also be received from payment, logistics and marketplace partners to complete your transaction.

3.3 Purposes of Use

We use data to process orders, arrange delivery, provide support, handle warranty and returns, improve our services, send operational notices, and—if consented—marketing messages. We may also use data to prevent fraud and comply with applicable requirements.

3.4 Disclosure to Third Parties

We disclose data to trusted providers strictly for operations: payment processors, logistics companies, IT/hosting and cloud vendors. We do not sell personal data. Cross‑border transfers may occur subject to appropriate safeguards.

3.5 Security & Retention

We implement reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No internet transmission is fully secure. We retain data only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by applicable requirements.

3.6 Your Choices & Rights

You may request access or correction, withdraw consent, or request deletion where applicable by writing to us via the website Contact Form. We may require information to verify your identity and scope your request.

3.7 Liability & Force Majeure

We are not liable for unauthorised access, cyberattacks, outages or failures of third‑party systems beyond our reasonable control.

4. MUMU Shipping & Delivery Policy

4.1 Lead Times & Territory

In‑stock items typically deliver within 3–17 working days. Made‑to‑order items may take up to 5 months. Deliveries are limited to Singapore addresses.

4.2 Customer Responsibilities

You must provide accurate delivery details, secure estate clearances, and ensure lifts, staircases and accessways can accommodate the items. If our logs show access is unsuitable, the delivery is deemed failed and re‑delivery fees apply.

4.3 Delivery Execution

Delivery time windows are indicative and not guaranteed. Our teams allow a 15‑minute grace period upon arrival. If no recipient aged 18 or above is present or access is denied, the delivery is failed and fees will apply.

4.4 Surcharges & Refusals

Additional manpower or staircase surcharges may apply. We may refuse deliveries deemed unsafe, unreasonable or impractical for the site conditions.

4.5 Inspection & Acknowledgment

Inspect goods on delivery and report any transit issues within 7 calendar days. Where no acknowledgment is collected (e.g., third‑party couriers), failure to report within the period constitutes acceptance.

4.6 Risk & Force Majeure

Risk of loss passes to you when the goods are handed to the logistics provider. MUMU is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control.

5. MUMU Refund, Return & Exchange Policy

5.1 General Rules

Sales are binding subject to this Policy. Transport and delivery fees are non‑refundable in all circumstances. Custom/made‑to‑order items, clearance items, and as‑is items are strictly non‑returnable and non‑refundable.

5.2 Food‑Contact Items

All food‑contact items (including trays, coasters and utensils) are non‑returnable once any seal or packaging is broken. Any issues must be reported within 7 days of delivery; otherwise the item is deemed used and ineligible for refund.

5.3 Standard Returns (Change of Mind)

Standard products may be returned if unused and in original packaging, subject to inspection and a 20% administrative fee. Change‑of‑mind before receiving the item also incurs a 20% administrative fee.

5.4 Depreciation Schedule

Where a change‑of‑mind return is accepted, refunds are pro‑rated as follows: Month 1: 55%; Month 2: 45%; Month 3: 35%; Month 4: 25%; Month 5: 15%; Month 6: 5%. Any part of a month counts as a full month.

5.5 Refund Method

Refunds are issued as store credits by default, valid for 12 months. MUMU may, at its discretion, issue a refund to the original payment method.

5.6 Worked Example

Example: Purchase price S$1,000; Month 2 return; admin fee 20% (S$200) applies; depreciation 45% refund on balance (S$800×45%=S$360). Transport fees are non‑refundable.

6. MUMU Warranty Policy

6.1 Coverage & Duration

This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for six (6) months from delivery. Tableware and accessories are covered only if unopened and unused. Warranty is for the original purchaser, non‑transferable, and for household use; contact us for commercial use.

6.2 Non‑Defects & Exclusions

The following are not defects: natural grain, tone, knots, rings, oil content or scent; minor colour variation; hand‑finished variance of ±5mm; fading, patina, minor scratches or stains; environmental mould or pests introduced after delivery. Excluded: clearance, as‑is, display and customised products; food‑contact items once opened.

6.3 Void Conditions

Warranty is void where there is misuse (dishwasher, microwave, soaking, harsh chemicals), prolonged sun/heat/damp exposure, failure to follow the Care & Use Policy, customer modifications (drilling, varnishing, staining), or relocation overseas.

6.4 Claims Process & Remedies

Notify us within 7 days of discovering a defect via the website Contact Form with proof of purchase and photos/videos. Return the item to our designated point at your cost for assessment. If approved, remedies are at MUMU’s discretion: repair, replacement with a comparable item, or store credit. Our liability is capped at the purchase price of the affected product; no indirect or consequential damages.

7. MUMU Product Care & Use Policy

7.1 General Use

Unless expressly stated otherwise, natural‑material items are not dishwasher‑safe or microwave‑safe and should not be exposed to direct sun or high heat.

7.2 Cleaning & Moisture

Use mild soap on a damp cloth, wipe dry immediately. Do not use abrasive or harsh chemical cleaners. Do not soak or leave in standing water; prolonged moisture can cause warping or mould.

7.3 Maintenance

Follow any care notes included with the product. Periodic oiling or waxing may be required for best performance. Failure to maintain the product may void the warranty.

7.4 Safety

Anchor tall furniture to walls where appropriate. Use coasters, pads and trivets to protect surfaces from heat and moisture.

8. MUMU Cancellation Policy

8.1 Pre‑Delivery Cancellations

Customer‑initiated cancellations before receiving the item incur a 20% administrative fee per line item. Transport and delivery fees are non‑refundable.

8.2 Post‑Dispatch Cancellations

Once goods are dispatched, a cancellation is treated as a return and is subject to the Refund, Return & Exchange Policy, including administrative fees, depreciation schedule and non‑refundable transport fees.

8.3 Promotions & Bundles

Where a discount code or bundle applies, refunds are prorated by line item. Cancelling any part of a bundle may void bundle pricing and restocking fees may apply.
